The first Styled Shoot of 2014 was crazy fun!
Morgan White brought her theater experience and helped out with prop making, set up, tear down, and everything in between!
Stephanie Renick, of GurliGlam sent up some tutus, gorgeous wings, and fun accessories.
Danielle Lee, of Lemon Daisy Boutique made capes, mustaches, lips, and a red riding hood cape, for our shoot.
And Meredith Crocker Jackson, of TulipCircle created some custom made animal hats, that were to die for!
On top of that, each "performer" (kiddo) sent in a self portrait
drawing, and parents filled out bios, so that we could all have a
program/keepsake from this fun shoot.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this shoot. I hope you all left with some great memories!

"Play" Time! {A Kim Winey Styled Shoot!} 4.12.14
"Play" Time!
Have you called your child a "drama queen" more than once, this past week?
Is playing "dress up" a daily requirement, in your house?
Does your child act as if an imaginary audience follows them around all day?
Does s/he know EVERY. SINGLE. WORD. to the most current animated movie song? {The snow glows white on the mountain top...}
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then this styled shoot is perfect for your child!
Not only will we have a fun, whimsical scene, for your performance-loving kiddo, but this shoot will be extra special, as Morgan White is partnering with Kim Winey Photography!
Morgan recently played the lead role of "Veta" in the play "Harvey", at Baptist Bible College. Her acting, prop making, scene designing, and hair & make up skills will help make this shoot a one of a kind experience!

Oatmeal Pancakes- Yum!!
Every once in a while, I get in the mood for a hearty pancake.
Pinterest came through for me and brought this lovely link to my attention- Laura's Sweet Spot.
I more or less followed the recipe {which is originally from Rachel Ray}, but switched the raisins for chocolate chips {of course}. Oh my, they are good!!
Oatmeal Pancakes!
Ingredients
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon *I will add more, next time!
- 2 ounces, ¼ cup, chopped walnuts
- ¾ cup sour cream
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 really ripe bananas, mashed up
- ¾ cup raisins *substitute chocolate chips, if so desired!
- ½ stick butter, ¼ cup, melted, plus additional for buttering skillet *I use part butter/part light olive oil.
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients, the first 7, in a bowl. In a another bowl (I pulverized mine in a food processor a bit, to break up the nuts and oats), mix the wet ingredients, the next 4. Whisk the wet ingredients into the dry until just combined, then fold in the mashed up bananas and the raisins. Stir in the melted butter.
- Heat a griddle over medium heat and brush with additional melted butter. Cook pancakes, each about ⅓ cup, until bubbles form on the top, then turn. Cakes will cook in about 2 minutes on each side. Keep pancakes tented with foil as they come off the griddle to keep them hot. Serve with drizzled honey or maple syrup over the top.
- *They were so good, I didn't even NEED syrup. That says a lot, coming from this sugar-aholic!
